it's day 1 of beta, which is essentially still alpha. again, it's easy to make mistakes when you're rushing to meet a deadline (and i assume this stuff wasn't in in alpha?). grammar checks come later, it's likely just a current PH until they go back and tune it properly (i.e. Sin'dorei)

"was would" is clearly a typo when a scribe is trying to make deadline and forgot to double check, it's easy to do and i've done it a few times myself

there's nothing else in the plaque that reads like AI, and AI wouldn't make a mistake like that

it's beta, typoes are expected to happen as they rush to meet a deadline

i wonder if this is like the succubus in old TBC that it only comes out at night (it's 6am server time on beta rn)

anyway blood knight rper moment but i like that they're using their ranseurs
November 12, 2025 at 2:01 PM
yeah no for sure, it's a weird cinematic anyway but... yeah........... that pretty much
November 12, 2025 at 12:08 AM
yeah.. that would make sense, but then there's a snapshot to the aspects + wrathion discussing it too? the narrative and timeline is incredibly weird and i don't think they realise this
November 11, 2025 at 11:43 PM
at the end of the day, i don't think new players are gonna care about these fuckass dragons + thrall, they're just gonna play the game. but it's just. very weird.
November 11, 2025 at 11:35 PM
yeah it's supposed to be the pre-DF experience for new players, to lead into it.
November 11, 2025 at 11:34 PM
i'm kinda hoping it's compression issues which they've not fixed yet, i've not tried it on 11.2.7 only beta so idk if it has the same issue

i'm kinda holding out that it's not ai
November 11, 2025 at 11:34 PM
the timeline is pre-dragonflight (to make sense to new players going into it), but the timeline is kind of. all over the place. you're telling me that kalecgos did the exile's reach > goes and sees khadgar in karazhan > goes back to the dragon isles

it's weird.
November 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
later he just shakes it off. even wrathion gets to shout at him for being a failure of the aspect of magic.

afterwards you're just left there with kalec and he's like "ty for saving me, let's go tot he isles nwo :)" and they play the khadgar/kalec cutscene from DF
November 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
eventually you do, kalecgos is there and he's. knocked out? i don't know how they like, captured kalecgos but hey they did. he loses control (read: the ogre sacrifices himself to take control) and starts attacking the play character with stufflike 'shadow breath' and other abilities.
November 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
- so they can. corrupt kalecgos? i don't know, the storyline is still all over the place bc it's been shoehorned in and they still talk about the skeleton dragon (mentions of necromancy lmao)

eventually you free wrathion and he's ilke "Ogres have taken kalecgos we need to disrupt the ritual!!"
November 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
you start off on a boat and wrathion and kalecgos are aiding the horde (or alliance) to the dragon isles (idk why) and fly aside them. they find that there's an 'unnatural storm' and go and investigate it, leading to their capture.

wrathion is caught by ogres and is being drained of his life force-
November 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
thrall's just kinda. there for the ride, he doesn't give orders really because the original "main" character you speak to during exile's reach is there giving orders (read: the original quests).

wrathion and kalecgos are just there to go "hey we're here in dragonflight btw" and that's it rly
November 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
#spoilers

it's. nothing? really? thrall feels shoehorned in alongside kalecgos and wrathion, but for the most part you're spent just doing the old exile's reach stuff (kill murlocs, kill quillboar, kill harpies, kill ogres).

it's strange that ogres are capable of taking down wrathion + kalecgos
November 11, 2025 at 11:32 PM
yeah... yeah they did...
