I have long posited that Daniel Craig's accent in Glass Onion is better than Knives Out because in Knives Out he is trying to do a real Southern accent and is bad at it but in Glass Onion he is just talking like Foghorn Leghorn, which is something a real gay Southern weirdo would do.

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

2d animators are unionized and 3d animators are not, which is why hollywood moved to 3d
2D animation is booming in theaters. In China, the film Nobody is outgrossing many of Hollywood's recent CG films—on a $10< million budget.

It's only one example. As 2D films rise, Hollywood's decision to kill them off looks shortsighted. We explore:

As a hobby artist who devotes waaay too many hours to an economically-unviable past-time, I have to take my victories where I can. So seeing my drawings in an exhibition and genuinely feeling that they belonged there (quality-wise) was a fantastic experience that I'll treasure for a long time.

Steven Kent’s Ultimate History Of Video Games was the first book most of us read on the topic, as for a long time it was the most comprehensive and most widely available. But it was also filled with errors, which Ethan has attempted to catalog in the link below. Think of it as the Annotated Kent.
It's finally here!

The errata of The Ultimate History of Video Games by Steven Kent. Took me a few years (cough) but its many errors are now compiled for your perusal.

I will update this, so let me know of any errors you spot.

Fascism isn’t just a political project, it’s a metastasizing of millions of peoples’ unhappiness that would swallow them whole if they didn’t project it outward, and so it is harnessed like a weapon to forward some of the most self-destructive ideas and plans imaginable.

Hey! New article! This one's about the history of first person shooters, what makes 'em work, and why I like the shooters I like. It's also me lamenting how they've died, and talking a bit about why I want to go ahead and make one.

first person shooters are extremely fun, but the industry rarely makes the ones i like anymore
There’s something about that anticipation as your dropship passes over open ocean and the fighting on the beach comes into view…

We have to stay with it. The fucking Die's cast. If people let it die down or move on because it's not "trending" they absolutely will win on this and that cannot happen.
The Itch/Steam thing dropped off the trending tab.

Therefore it's time to remind you again to swamp the payment processors with more calls.

If the call volume dies down in under a week they aren't going to learn their lesson. Make them regret it.

“banning pornography” is bad on its own but it is imperative that everyone understand that these people consider the very existence of queer people to be pornographic

they consider the most chaste depiction of a queer relationship, or an openly trans person, to be porn and they want it banned
You don’t have to like, approve of, or engage with porn and nsfw work to see how right wing extremists are using fear and stigma around smut to ban queer people from public life, define “good” sex as only between married people for procreation, and otherwise further force white supremacy on everyone
