The Pre-Protopalatial cemetery of Sissi in north-east Crete, made up of house tombs #TombTuesday 🏺

The fantastic spire of St Botolph’s without Aldgate. The current church dates to 1741 replacing one which survived the Great Fire. It also survived the Blitz and has a dedication to those that lost their lives in the worst night of the Blitz. #SteepleSaturday

An almost 2,000 year old complete stonemasonry toolkit, from pre-Roman Dacia, has been discovered near a limestone quarry near the hill of Mǎgura Cǎlanului in current-day Romania. The tools appeared to have been deliberately hidden at the base of a tree.

For #steeplesaturday the Guild Church of St Margaret Pattens in the City of London. A church has been on the site since c1067 and the current church was designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the Great Fire. It has been a Guild church since 1954.

A video of the stacks of tiles excavated at the Carlisle dig. A flagged floor was supported by these tiles stamped with the imperial IMP mark allowed hot air from the furnace to circulate underneath then rise up box flues in the wall. Between the stacks a huge amount of soot was removed #Carlisle
