And make sure your main life, loves and people are outside of publishing, so you always keep perspective

Back yourself, but don't get overly attached to any particular idea or project; remember you are running a business and don't sell your time and ideas for less than they are worth; give every project your all while it is in your control, but then let it go and move your head & heart to the next
