I AM CAPTIVATED BY THE IDEA there's a real possibility the premiere comic mind of our time read a lowly garfield strip in 1984, absorbed it into the fibers of his brain until it was wallpaper, then had to exorcise it in the form of a standup joke years later... a beautiful metamorphosis. kafkaesque

i don't think he did it on purpose and also i think he improved the joke . he started standup in 1989 and this comic is from 1984. ok now i can live my life again now that that's off my chest
