The bullshit that the Trump administration is trying to float with the healthcare.gov. Website is unbelievable. Yesterday I saw a commercial saying 4 out of 5 people could get coverage for $21 a month or less *with financial assistance.

It’s been 9 years since Trump was elected to his 1st term. The GOP has repeatedly said they want to repeal the ACA. Any yet, in 9 years, they haven’t come up with ANY alternative. Now they’re letting ACA subsidies expire.

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
