Pigologist
I wholeheartedly recommend having a sow feeder at floor level. Piglets of 14 days old are eating themselves fat without my effort. 6kg at 2 wk old. Some simple changes can make huge differences for weaning pigs.

Increasing animal agency: opening the door and see what the pigs do. All other days they left their piglets in the nest but today took them out. Natural socialization! #animalagency @liftcostaction.bsky.social

It seems that the most difficult part of research is not the research itself or the never ending workload, but how to prioritise tasks when knowing that when you prioritise doing tasks for someone, you let someone else wait or sacrifice the time to work on your own research 😐

Amazing work today by the vet. Treating a pig with equal importance as if she were a valuable sports horse. Pig calmly lets herself be bandaged. No restraint, no injections, no stress. All animals deserve equal treatment.

Why is there so little research on assessing emotional states from animals' eyes? Anyone suggestions for research techniques?
