A point of clarity and nothing more: Liberia planned on attending but their paperwork wasn't able to be processed in time, in no small part due to the 19th being a federal holiday. They were not refused entry into the country by the federal government.

I'm remote moderating for a TQBA #quizbowl event today. In one of my games, Team 2 takes a 45 point lead into the last cycle. Their captain calls timeout and tells his teammates: "no matter what, no negs". So Team 1 pounces, powering the TU, and then on a last second pull aces the bonus to tie it.

Thanks to the generosity and support of the Sue Ling Gin Foundation, NASPA Games, and the NASPA Youth Literacy Foundation, the Collegiate Scrabble Championship has a prize pool of $2500. The size of the tournament's field will determine how prizes are distributed.
Recruitment is well underway for the first ever Collegiate Scrabble Championship! If you’re in college (including grad school, etc) and love games built around words and strategy, we’d love to have you.
