As I've been saying for decades now: Republican policy and goals are so contemptible, so reprehensible, that to merely describe them in plain English makes you sound like a hyperbolic conspiracy nut with an axe to grind
I have two friends, neither of whom are politics reporters but who both work in “the media,” who both told me yesterday that they aren’t even allowed to write or post about Trump with work accounts because describing anything he’s doing objectively would appear “anti-Trump.”
The NYT, WaPo, LAT, CNN, etc etc have shifted to the right. Fox & the Post et al have always been hard right. Twitter & Meta are controlled by right wingers. On a daily basis, millions of Americans - probably the majority - see nothing but sanitized, accomodationist, right wing coverage of Trump.

The attack on DEI shows why liberals should stop arguing about "strategic" use of language forever. DEI stands for three uncontroversial virtues that most every American accepts, and the right still turned it into a vile slur. It doesn't matter what you say - they will poison it because YOU said it.

If I was a shareholder at Tesla, which has tanking sales even during soaring interest in EVs, I might have questions about the CEO clearly not doing any work at the company and being on meth.

Obviously we shouldn't condone murder, but if this is what it takes to get people to realize that Insurance Company executives are one of the biggest causes of death in this country then I'm not going to lose any sleep over it either.
