It’s honestly impressive they could waste an entire console generation.

(To be less picky: it doesn’t have to adapt side stories, spin-offs, etc. Just the main series.)

With all the Federalist Society judges that McConnell rammed through, to say nothing of the makeup of the Supreme Court, anything remotely progressive is gonna get ruled unconstitutional for at least a decade, maybe longer.

I’d also love Rez Infinite from the same company on Switch, but playing Rez handheld with speakers instead of headphones would violate the whole synesthesia concept of Rez.

I do think that the PS5 and especially the Xbox are falling prey to PC gaming, with its enormous catalog, effectively limitless backwards-compatibility, and frequent sales. But they're appealing to a different kind of player. Sony could have built out a catalog with couch co-op games, but didn’t.

Switch even made monster hits of franchises like Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem, which would have been unthinkable a decade ago.

And this deep bench would be hard to replicate elsewhere, especially when Sony goes the other direction and closes Japan Studio. 3/3

Everyone locks on to the monster franchises like 3D Mario, Kart, Smash, and Pokémon, but overlooks that there enough people out there with fond memories of second-tier stuff like Luigi’s Mansion or the Mario sports titles to make them respectable hits every time there’s a new game in the series. 2/x

The headline and the strap line in the BlueSky preview led me to expect something far different than what the piece ended up being. TBH, my first thought was, “god, another one of these?” Fortunately, that’s not what it is.

Isn’t the classical conservative definition of inflation, “too much money chasing not enough goods”?
