Wasn’t the whole eyeball emoji left podcast obsession w Epstein for a few years entirely based around the idea of it being a Clinton DNC etc problem and seldom brought up as a Trump thing?

Am I missing something or are the NYT people on here taking umbrage at the suggestion that the paper had knowledge of and suppressed the insane the Epstein texts we found out about yesterday but also even adamantly denying the possibility that it was a huge failure/fuck up?

the way these guys always retreat to vacuous arguments in favor of the abstract idea of debate shows how intellectually bankrupt they are. if their positions had merit, they'd argue them on the merits

The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

I think the most charitable interpretation for the NYT is they got absolutely played. Epstein took their financial reporter down to Little St. James and thoroughly co-opted him over the years. And by the time editorial realized (far too late), they were too embarrassed to want to focus on Epstein.

I get that this won’t undue every awful thing you guys said about this man and your collective responsibility for what happened but I do think it would go a long way if we all said something like “hey big man hope you can return to the hallowed halls of the US Senate again very soon”
Hard not to assume the heart issue (and resulting fall) were a consequence of you guys skeeting hatred at this man on Bluesky day in and day out. If this results in ending his dream of being a powerful figure with authority over our lives then I hope you could find some time to reflect on that.
