As we reach the end of the year and finally stop long enough to take stock, it’s surprising just how different things look compared to what we imagined back in January. To get the full run down on 2025 and for our 2026 plans, take a look at our recent blog post: www.innateneeds.org/news/how-a-t...

The Living Wage Foundation’s Life on Low Pay 2025 report has painted a stark picture of life for millions across the UK. More than 4.5 million workers earn below the real Living Wage and over half of low-paid parents have turned to food banks in the past year just to get by.

At Innate Needs, our mission has always been clear: make it easier for people to find the support they need, when they need it. That’s why we built the UK’s largest open-access map of community support and we’re pleased to share the platform is now completely free to everyone.

It’s 2025. We live in an age where we can order food at the tap of a screen, track parcels across continents, and get real-time travel updates to the minute. And yet, for something far more important - finding help when life takes a difficult turn - the process is still far too complicated.

Across the country, people are struggling to get the right support, in the right place, at the right time.

That’s why the government’s new focus on Neighbourhood Health Services is something we’re paying close attention to. The idea is simple: shift care out of hospitals and into local communities.

Our recent soft launch has been a massive success.

We’re now preparing for the full launch which will go live on 1st August 2025. From that point onwards, the platform will be fully open and completely free to use.

If you’re a private tenant getting benefits, you might get help towards rent.

The amount you get is based on Local Housing Allowance (LHA) rates.

LHA will not go up this year. So it’s important you know how much you’ll get and any extra help you could claim.

⚠️ New Government data shows unacceptable numbers of people are suffering from food insecurity - even before the brutal welfare cuts announced in the #SpringStatement

We explore how cutting benefits will worsen the vicious cycle between food insecurity & poor mental health.

🚨 Not an April Fools joke: Household bills are going up by more than inflation (2.8%), while social security support rises by JUST 1.7%.

People are already struggling. More people will be at risk of needing a food bank.

It doesn’t have to be this way. The government CAN change this. #AwfulApril

Happy #AwfulApril everyone 🙃

Energy bills ⬆️ to nearly £2k
Water bills ⬆️ 31% in some areas
Basic food prices 📈

All affect the poorest worst.
All ON TOP of Govt cuts to support for pensioners, children, disabled people.

These are political choices. Labour could have chosen a #WealthTax

It really is #AwfulApril for people on low incomes. Already so many facing hunger & hardship, now bills shooting up by far more than inflation, whilst Universal Credit only rises 1.7%. We need urgent action - social security that at least covers the cost of essentials.
