Sorry, didn't see this earlier--I usually mention that when I share this article. I think it's still relevant bc: a. It's an analysis of the shady history of election machine companies, & it's all the same people today; 2. Obama did fix *some* of the issues in the HAVA act, but many are still there.

Unfortunately, our election systems are not secure. It's been demonstrated by cybersecurity experts, computer scientists, even the Mueller report concluded that Russia breached our systems in 2016. There are so many sources that explore how insecure our elections are that it's hard to even know where to begin. This article is good for historical context: harpers.org/archive/2012... There have been some changes since then but the players in the election machine space are all the same.

People are going to tell you that exit polls matched the outcome. You may be interested to learn that exit polls are "adjusted" by the pollsters to match the outcomes. Raw exit polling data is hard to find. Thom Hartmann wrote about this here: hartmannreport.com/p/exit-polli...
