Panic attacks aren’t always *bad*. I mean that in the sense they aren’t inherently evil, or omens that mean you’re falling apart. Sometimes they are just emotions you’ve needed to process for a while. A sign you need to feel to heal. Breathe, give yourself a hug, and carry on ❤️‍🩹

A reminder that prioritizing your needs and care are crucial to any and all activism you wish to do. Part of activism is advocating for your rest and care.

Just draw the fuckin thing yourself. The imperfection is part of the charm. The fact that you drew it is the whole fuckin point. Don't embarrass yourself engineering a prompt, just pick up whatever you have at hand and give it a go. Be a human being.

How’s my work environment? I came in having a bad day (didn’t tell anyone or show it) and I talked anime, did a sick tattoo, sat on the floor, shared memes, and a coworker fed me hot pickles while another did pickle juice shots.

So pretty fucking great.

I’m currently reading “How Emotions are Made” and it’s so good and SO DENSE with information, like so filling, only problem is that’s putting me behind my four books a month goal…

I believe in the bad in people when they’re telling me something good. I believe in the good in people when they’re telling me something bad. Uh-oh. #cptsd

Reading “Medical Apartheid” and I already hated James Marion Sims, but reading more about him makes me want to lobotomize him with his own speculum.

Just had a moment in the car where I was sobbing and holding myself saying “I forgive you” to myself for keeping me safe all these years. She only raised me the way she was taught. It’s not her fault. But I’m done traumatizing myself. I’ve been through enough.

Maybe, just maybe, it’s not others faith in you that’s misplaced. Maybe it’s your self-hatred.

February read #2 : “What My Bones Know”- Stephanie Foo.

I cannot convey in words how impactful this book is. It is, without a doubt, the best book I have read on CPTSD. Well-researched and sourced, yet achingly human. You leave feeling full- of grief, of anger, of joy, of love. So much love.

I went to the library this weekend, and the meeting room was rowdy with the scheduled teen d&d meetup/games (some adult GMs present.) I love libraries so much.

Can introvert parties be a thing? Like a group of close friends getting together and we all just drink tea and read books, enjoying each others quiet company until the host is like “alright, everyone out”

the real reason self-care is critical, is nobody's counting up how long you work overtime. nobody is going to give you the grace you think you've earned, so you have to give it to yourself. it'll always be "usually you do that though" instead of "ah well, you've been working very hard"
