I find this brand to be effective! I’ve used their mold solution concentrate on clothes and it doesn’t leave a smell behind and I also just got their product designed for laundry to try microbalancehealthproducts.com

Kyle always strikes me as so smart in all the interviews I’ve seen and I think you capture his thoughts very well here! Syril as pathetic comedy is what makes that character so good.

highly highly recommend the Australian show The Newsreader for this! Season 1 is on AMC plus, seasons 2 and 3 will come soon hopefully (or you can use a vpn). It’s set during the 80s and each ep is focused around a prominent news story.

I felt so torn about this episode because on one hand I liked how maybe this whole show is actually about eugenics and abusive medical systems but on the other hand… the stereotypical dead wife scene? With the blankets in bed? She is possibly less of a real character than she was before.

Ahaha sorry for the panic! there always has been and always will be a need for playwrights! Or so I believe 😊

Also agree it’s still a good book regardless!

I think the aftermath/investigations are important to show but I wish they had used a different approach.

Hmm. I did not really love the second half of the show, I feel like it lost a lot of narrative drive and spent too long recounting historical events (fictionalized and compressed) without centering a character’s agency or decisions.

You’re welcome! Always nice when I can share my hard earned gastroparesis survival tricks with people!

I like polenta/grits/cream of wheat or rice. You can add syrup or savory flavorings depending on what meal you want it to be.

I will say though… the disability rep in this show… perhaps not the *best*

Dolors of the past is totally dedicated to her cause, but the older Dolors is less sure that all of what she did was right. There’s enough ambiguity there to make the audience think about these questions without becoming didactic or sacrificing character motivations. So good!!

The idea to frame the whole show with the murder of Jean McConville and through future interviews (and the resulting three different timelines) is so brilliant— it forces you to always be thinking about the cost of the characters’ actions, without demonizing them.

That makes sense! Not my favorite genre tbh, I might skip it.

How do you feel about the show? I’m so weirded out by a spin off tv show when the movies aren’t even finished yet? The reviews I am reading are not illuminating whether it’s worth watching to me or not haha

Love trying to write when my fingers are twitching like some essential nerve has been severed. (It hasn’t been. I’ve done the testing. And yet!) dictation exists I know but it’s so frustrating to have to relearn how to write.
