a version of an apple could work for some folks! I'm not deep into how feed creation works. so maybe that wouldn't work. I dunno. I'm just trying to make bsky a viable place to enjoy.

I think what we're finding here is that serendipity is hard to replicate in bsky right now. Since your main feed is just based on your follows, it tends to be skewed. Until there is a better way to go down the rabbit hole, it seems that we are stuck with feeds as an option.

While yes a feed isn't necessarily the same as an index, you could argue that the creation of tagging and feeds based on tags would act as a version of an index - it provides you a list of posts about a specific topic. This requires self-tagging which is a whole other beast.
