there *are* some relatively inoffensive design choices in some of these rooms, like the dining room and bathroom are pretty well-laid out, and the kitchen is something i'd actually want to use, with surprisingly modern appliances

even outside of arcade rhythm games; rhythm game devs, don't be afraid to get silly with your unlocks! make something difficult to solve, but rewarding to attain! allow for really fun ideas and hidden tracks that are discoverable through unique means! if you've got ideas, i believe you can do them!

personally, i think this was a great idea! with improved (less crazy) hints, i think this would be a really fun idea to return to in modern arcade games; with maimai, there's already ARG events like 'project raputa' and the more recent 'KALEIDXSCOPE', so what's stopping others from doing the same?

was it a worthwhile unlock system? that's mostly up to personal opinon, but from what i've seen while researching this, it was mostly well-received. some of the hints were regarded a bit too tough (as you've probably seen), and some of the unlock conditions were even taken down pretty fast.
