Spotted caramel apple empanada on self-service screen at Taco Bell this week. Mentioned to cashier that it was cruel for fans since it was discontinued in 2019. She said it was back for a limited time a few weeks ago and is now gone again. HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS? Bluesky peeps, you failed me. 😭 🥟

Fired national security prosecutor Michael Ben'Ary warns of the danger ahead in his goodbye letter to EDVA colleagues.

"The [DOJ] leadership is more concerned with punishing the President's perceived enemies than they are with protecting our national security."

Conservative media personalities on X are fond of saying, "No matter how much you hate the mainstream media, it is not enough."

Welp.

"...liberal criticism of American Eagle’s 'great jeans' ads...didn’t rise until prominent conservative figures attacked liberals for their supposed outrage."

"In all other respects, however, he was ridiculous."

Excellent, painful read from @eliotacohen.bsky.social: "Pete Hegseth is Living the Dream"

Thanks! That was my Beasley in 1989. I'm on Beagle #3 now and - according to the rescue - a "Beagle mix." 🤔

Lovely for autumn! 🍂 I received this surprise today simply for letting a friend's dogs out yesterday during her day trip.

Thoughtful friends - and flowers - are gifts to the spirit.

My niece went biking among the Aspens in Summit County last evening, and my sister went paddleboarding on Horsetooth in Fort Collins today. #Colorado is beautiful. 😍

Worth reading the full transcript, but these two sections in the Emmanuel Macron speech at the Atlantic Council stood out to me.

Kinda hoped to see a Disney Plus Hulu subscription restart confirmation message with "Thank you! Sorry we screwed up by temporarily enabling an authoritarian wannabe," tbh.

Interesting questions from @maddieblock.bsky.social about the delegation of approximately 250 American state legislators who visited Israel for the "50 States One Israel" conference on September 15.

LOVED Dolly Parton's "Threads: My Songs in Symphony" show tonight. ISO sounded fantastic. Guest band members and vocalists were stellar.

Dolly's taped pieces were warm, sweet, and funny. I'll never hear "Jolene" again without imagining her husband Carl as an "ass" at "fault." 😉

See it if you can!

"Lighthearted banter with the press" or loss of inhibition in social settings due to cognitive decline? What do you think?

Peeked in you-know-where to see reactions. The usual suspects are calling Trump "brilliant" and "hilarious."

Meanwhile, Grok put the president on the couch for psychoanalysis.

The U.S. economy is dealing with more than stagflation

Unemployment and inflation are starting to rise. But more troubling: how skewed the AI economy is.

"The incentives that fuel American political life reward the people and platforms that turn up the heat, not those who dial tensions down."

Important read this morning from Katty Kay: bbc.com/news/article....

This article was posted 12 hours before ABC announced it was pulling Jimmy KimmeI Live off the air.

I wonder if this Wall Street research firm knows #BoycottDisneyABC is a thing tonight on Bluesky.

Will be interesting to see $DIS short sale volume tomorrow.

Necessary, but painful, cancellation. 😔

"Do not obey in advance" is the first lesson in @timothysnyder.bsky.social 2017 book, "On Tyranny." Snyder warns against preemptive obedience to an authoritarian government as it consolidates power.

Disney / ABC failed that test, and I voted with my wallet.
