I agree w/r/t octogenarians who refuse to let go, but most working people in Oregon have a right to job-protected medical leave and I'm sure he didn't plan on complications from surgery.

Or what if --crazy idea here-- those legislators worked with legislators from the *other* party to pass legislation instead of relying on one sick legislator?
