lol, most of the time it seems like I am literally the only one in on any of this.

I think this album is cool regardless of how you choose to take it in.

Shout out to space time.

It's all about perception anyhow so it works on a lot of levels, even if I am on the only one in on the joke.

It seems so silly to me that folks stear clear of a single track half hour experience but are keen on a half hour album.

The bonus track is the full song with no breaks.

I go on about the fun and joy of long songs all the time so this isn't new news.

This album was an experiment.

This isn't meant to be an album with multiple tracks, it is a single piece of music.

As a test I released it broken up into 5 shorter tracks rather than one 33 minute song. I didn't even take the time to name the songs.

I still have two more albums of story to get through this plot. No plans on when that will start happening. I try and just sit down and write everyday and when the time comes that I find myself back in the world I'll know it.

This one also has a touch more heavy doomy drum moments which sort of seeped in from the work at mixing prog rock and doom. However I wouldn't consider this in the same genre as Empire is no more.

One of the larger divergent style changes on this album
is actual dedicated solo sections. It is something I don't frequently do and have really only recently started to play around with.

It's pretty cool to see what's swimming in your head brought to life.

This album has a different vibe to it than Errant did. I do think they fit together but for sure each have their own style.

The prog rock concept story continued on from Errant with Catalyst.

At Errands end you're introduced to the black sludge and Catalyst flashes back to show what it is and where it came from.

Made sense to me to re work the last song in Errant as a bridge. Also I just love arranging music.

I cried when I saw this in person.

I pushed this remaster out the same day this albums companion, catalyst, came out.

All this is based on an original space opera narrative that's cruising around in me head. It was all based on a vivid dream I had years ago. There will be more in this world eventually.

These are clips from the remaster which is only available for purchase ( it's free ) on ampwall. One of the two ampwall only albums up there.

The remaster was done by @structureedit.com and the art originally done by the mighty @walks.bsky.social was given a glitch by @voidscanmusic.com

After ultimately feeling like I fell short of my prog rock goals on the dreaming city III I wanted to make sure I loaded this one up with counterpoint sections and needless adding/subtracting of beats. Also got in two more ballad type of tracks on this.

Errant! The first honest foray into prog rock. I very much wanted to make sure it was synthesizers and drums only. Sort of in the same way I tried so many attempts at guitar free doom metal I wanted the same touch on this stuff.

Of course there is still orchestration as well.

This one's a bit out from release but it's starting to come to form.

This is turning into a one track song, but instead of the usual drone/neoclassical bummer music, I am trying my hand at prog rock odyssey style simply because that's where the improv is going. Ha.

Production isn't great on this one but it doesn't bother me enough to be one to go and fix up. I don't mind the ugliness on a lot of my old stuff but the ones that do bother me I am trying to make right over time.
November 10, 2025 at 3:03 PM
I love songwriting now but at the start it felt more of a chore to get the good stuff, which was arranging music. I still maybe feel that why and that's why I do so many improvised albums.

It took a long while before I stopped using works of fiction as a barrier between myself and my music and I am glad I mostly leave it behind these days. I still love books and every now and then will put something out fiction inspired.
November 10, 2025 at 3:03 PM
The first bit of this project I specifically stuck to fictional stories who shared a theme of hubris leading to a societal collapse. Imrryr, chasm city, Arrakis, the final empire. It was intentional to kick it off that way, I could not sustain such a tight focus.
November 10, 2025 at 3:03 PM
When I started this project I wanted to very quickly establish the absolute lack of consistency in what type of music was going to happen.

The first four months of this project I released four albums and two long form experimental tracks.

This was the third album.
