Fantastic to see this lovely pair of Garganey at Stoke Lake today.
Always a tricky one to get, but better when a few miles away from home.

Thursley NNR - Talking to visitors about rare and special wildlife and keeping dogs on leads and off the open habitats, a great and positive session. My thanks to all, involved.

Thursley Common - It’s that time of the year folks, from 1st March we are now insisting on dogs on leads and at very least under close control and sticking to the paths
Many rare species & disturbance is their worst enemy, causing them to abandon nests, failing to breed. #Surreybirding #RSPB #Birds

29th December '24 (My Birthday) - Elmley Nature Reserve, though the sun (which was promised) did not materialise, there were some great birds to be seen. The Short-eared Owls put on a great display. #UKbirding #birdguides #Kentbirding

Red-throated Diver on Frensham Great Pond - 15th Dec '24. I did not expect it to crash-land 10 feet in front of me !! Unbelievable ! #Surreybirds #UKbirding . After inspection, it was carefully put back on the Pond, seemingly unaffected; Diving & fishing for food 🙂 A special moment.
