Alderman Sigcho-Lopez was right to call out Pritzker today about the state police arresting protesters. Pritzker responded that the state police are protecting protesters, and that just isn't true. State cops have arrested and brutalized protesters to facilitate ICE operations. That's reality.

Just moments ago, detainees transported from ICE’s Broadview facility this morning were loaded onto an Avelo Airlines plane in Gary, Indiana.
It is a beautiful building, the Chicago Digital owner bought it a while back, which is how he’s able to keep odd hours—he doesn’t need to make a profit!
Chicago Digital is a trip to visit but unless you’re into classical and classic rock, and you happen to be there during the three hours its open during weekdays you’re better off at Oak Park Records

“These people remind me of the soldiers I patrolled with in Afghanistan, only the average ICE agent has less training than the average soldier. It seems like every neighborhood in the U.S. is now subject to an armed and potentially violent confrontation with federal troops.“
Last day to pick up a print copy of this story, thanks for reading

begrudging congratulations to bari weiss, who manages to perfectly capture the zeitgeist of 2025 with "what's the point of standards?"
“I’ve been hearing that standards will be eliminated or severely cut back. Bari has told people that she wants to get rid of standards and is shocked that they have so much power. She also asked openly, ‘What’s the point of standards?’” one CBS source said.

the scope of the feds’ invasion cannot be overstated. this isn’t limited to chicago or even cook county.
Understand that he's talking about distances of ~50 miles apart here.
feds have also been seen at or abducted people from bensenville, blue island, glendale heights, and mount prospect.

while most eyes were on greg bovino’s early morning photo op in downtown chicago this was happening 15 miles west in suburban melrose park:

video captured around 6:30 am shows a team in four vehicles detaining a person on lake street. one agent is seen rifling through the person’s car.
