If I've learned nothing else this year, I've learned that I must curb my enthusiasm. Especially around those kind enough to humor my overzealous and probably suffocating fandom. I am, I've come to realize, The Fandom Menance. 😔

I like the Doing It idea better. You can't be a sociopathic killer who runs through women and henchmen like grease through a goose AND a softy who goes all weepy over that one line in the file that says, "Married for 20 minutes to some posh bint he pulled out of the sea in Portugal."

Then why does Roger Moore's Bond pay his respects at Lazenby's wife's grave? That one dumb scene ruined the Pseudonym Angle forever. Unless Moore's Bond was secretly Doing It with Tracy?! Hang on, WE'RE BACK, BABY!

I just want a Bond Does A Rando Mission movie! Cold open that has nothing to do with the plot, smash to the gun barrel, iconic theme, then a senseless plot about Space Lasers or Underwater Nukes or Voodoo Drug Dealers that's just an excuse for lots of sex and violence. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'll take any sort of baddie as long as s/he isn't somehow related to Bond and/or the Architect of All Bond's Woes. In SPECTRE they may have well just had Blofels say, "I've been behind everything since CASINO ROYALE, we just couldn't get the rights til now, so sorry, old boy. Anyway, boo!"
