Last read of the month and it was an easy 5⭐️s. I had an excellent high school education, but shame on our history books for erasing how queer holocaust victims were NOT freed by the Allies. The Allies imprisoned the 🩷 and 🖤 triangles. So much history, identities, and knowledge lost. 💔 #booksky

We need a return to analog culture: handwritten letters, seeing films in the cinema, reading books, in-person visits, time in the outdoors. We weren't meant to spend our whole lives online. The joys of tangible living are something no one can take from you.

“Merfolk do not DO anything. We flow. We commune with the deep, rescue the occasional marooned creature, protect our harmonies, explore. But we age too slowly to behave like time is a thing you can outswim if you fill it up with enough doing.” -Venessa Vida Kelley, When the Tides Held the Moon

During a Fish Identification dive for my AOW scuba certification, we were told to find a fish whose name we didn’t know, then identify it using our field guide. I chose two. The first ended up being a Fairy Basslet. 😍🧚🏽‍♀️ The second was a Slippery Dick. Together, I think they sum up my general vibe.

“Within the core of all humans is the reality that you are made of Earth, you’re made of water. If we talk about recognizing the rights of nature, we’re only saying that we’re recognizing ourselves as nature - not separate from.” -Casey Camp-Horine
