I never *liked* them but it has gotten far worse since prevalence of Lyme (and other tick-transmitted illnesses) has risen significantly in the region.

I pulled a dozen ticks off of my trousers and the dogs fur yesterday and then got a case of the tick tickles so bad I had to take a shower before I could lay down and sleep.

David J Peterson’s book is good too. It leans a little harder into the linguistics terminology and concepts and it is a really cool look at his work with TV and movies and his particular methodology.

The online version of the kit is a nice accessible starting point. The book version is a little more in-depth, but the rest of the zompist website offers lots of examples and samples and links as well.
