I keep seeing #content that’s like “to decentre men in ur life, stop dating them!” and that’s just goofy. To decentre men CENTRE URSELF. Kiss and hang and tug when it seems like a good idea and don’t when it doesn’t. TO YOU. The decentring is of *their perspective* in *your value system.* okay🤍

Art is an act of friendship.

We make it because we must.

We share it because we can.

We sell it because...well, to be honest, the bills don't pay themselves.

Lee was interesting bc of the technicalities which he was precise *to*. He’s looking at bodybuilders and fitness models and remaking them on the page instead of using them to guide his boner daydream… his superheroes look incredibly physically poised for display but not for pornography. Fascinating
Jim Lee draws women with the same precision that he draws a machine gun or a motorcycle: technically precise to the borders of delirium, not unattractive but also never quite as convincingly as Silvestri. who at his best did so much more with less.
Silvestri could pull off sultry in the way the others (let’s include Jim Lee in this) never could.

Imagine your country being seen as a hope for a new life for thousands of people wanting to live and contribute in your towns and instead of being proud of it you go no nope nope this country should be a scary shitheap people should be scared to come here how dare they think we are good

Imo this is one of the most interesting areas of consideration for many action-adventure artists. The aesthetic ideology of *how* “woman” means “sexual object,” subject to subject
similar to Liefeld, actually - the stylization is so extreme that the attempt to draw cheesecake merely exudes a mannerist impulse. it just doesn’t translate to sincere eros.

Whereas, one small good deed can make you feel wonderful for days. Not that cruel people can understand that. They can only see altruism and kindness as weaknesses.

Cruelty is anhedonic. It rarely delivers the euphoria promised because, in the abstract, what feels righteous and joyful inevitably reveals itself to be sordid and small. Then it's "No not like that". "No not enough". "No the real battle, the forever war to make this feel good starts now". Forever.
Note how these awful people are getting exactly the exclusions of children that they demanded and *that still isn’t enough for them*: they demand everyone be delighted about it and kiss their arses for being brilliant.

Had a dream featuring this exact comic, recreated as accurately as I could. I knew all the context in the dream so it actually made sense, which I've tried to convey in the alt text as opposed to altering the comic to make it make sense in its own right. Hell if I know. See what you think.

No-strings-attached, zero-means-testing, no-questions-asked cash payouts have been proven, over and over again, to be the most effective form of charity/aid going.

It gets people in housing, and it saves the state money. We know this. It's fact, not theory.
An Oregon pilot program giving cash to homeless youths sees a staggering reduction in homelessness. The program gave participants $1,000 cash payments each month for two years, and at the end of the project's first phase, 91% of participants reported being in stable housing.

Holy hell, what a compelling thread.
Anyway to come back to this what Lewis hated and feared wasn’t girls or women or sex but seduction. Being so enamoured or impressed that your bests judgement is overwhelmed. Not sexuality but influential eroticism
