preparing the US for the coming election stakes? A few Dems are just passively going into a few places and not follwoing up and that is supposed to be evidence they don't have a comms problem? they aren't half-assing things?

ok, but these are all things repubs are doing to dems? I'm honestly not sure how these contradict the notion that joe rogan communicates the existential threat of ICE better than dems? How are these articles resulting in action, in campaign messaging, organizing, setting narratives,

associated with kidnapping and extraditing students, workers? Are they putting themselves (plural) in harms way, showing solidarity and bringing media attention to the mistreatment of their constituents? Are they gearing up for a campaign against the evil of ethnonationalism?

"Like, democrats..." OK, setting aside the work the pluarlization is doing vis a vis "dem leadership" vs one dem senator, what has the democratic response been to getting arrested? Do dems have a consistent, coherent msg that repubs have set bad things in motion? Are they cutting ads, making repubs

Buddy, your characterizations of my beliefs are contrary to my stated words in this thread. How you go from me saying "joe rogan communicates ICE-as-fascist better than dem leadership" to you accusing me of "support the terrible things repubs do" is some "stop making up a guy to get mad at" psych.
July 6, 2025 at 6:56 PM
This is some reeeaaal monkey's paw shit given 2016 and 2024. We're going to wind up with a splintered Republican party where the money side captures and severs dems from labor, minority outreach, leaving the White Supremacist side of politics free reign to set narratives, organize, recruit, etc
July 6, 2025 at 6:52 PM
Joe Rogan is communicating ICE-as-fascism better than dem leadership. I don't know what causes you to say the things you're saying to me, "joe rogan isn't a dem" as a response makes no sense to me. Like, ok?
July 6, 2025 at 6:33 PM
I don't understand how you're applying "when repubs do terrible things, its dems fault." Rogan is communicating to his massive audience that ICE is targeting workers, students, rather than "criminals", and connecting ICE's actions to fascism. Is dem leadership communicating as effectively as Rogan?

Its really hard to imagine the workshopping "weve tried red, weve tried blue, now its time for..." went through remaining oblivious to the potential association and potential branding risk to non white supremists.
July 6, 2025 at 3:14 PM
Unfortunately, thats the dems position as well

The loud, racist wing of the republican party thinks the quiet racist wing of the party trusts them with the economy.

God help me nothing says seek therapy like having a dog in the trump musk fight but Musk is just ...so repellant. Like, trump is a bit plauer getting more than his share of screentime in the sapranos, but musk is uncle fester if uncle fester wasnt a slapstick character
July 1, 2025 at 4:58 AM
These ppl are so cracked. "Oh, mr musk, please fight for your values and principles with fellow republicans!" And ots like, lol, if some fraction of that $4t debt was due to subsidies to tesla or whatever, musk wouldnt have a single objection. Just valueless greed incarnate

there's a bag of potato chips. You must eat one to get in, but if you ever eat the second, it's straight to eternal damnation? What if god's a bastard?

I think dems would choose the money and be confused about the expectation of deviation in solidarity with traditional marginalized groups, including large segments of their active voter base

Andry, a gay Venezuelan asylum seeker, was sent by ICE to an El Salvadoran prison for terrorists 102 days ago. Yesterday, the Supreme Court upheld their right to do so. Public pressure on our elected representatives to halt these horrific policies is critical.

Trump saw crypto and musk for what/who they are and yet...used them to his own ends in an ahistorical way. Trump made 10B in crypto in 4 days! He openly made fun of musk for being craven about defense contracts back in 2018! trumps magic sauce covers more than just "dumbfuckery"

During the first bush admin, there was massive coordination between wh, news agencies (or at least sympathetic journolists within agencies.) But now? Theres no way this admin has the organizational skills or discipline to coordinate a message, medias pure muscle memory now

Musk has a nebulous idea of classification systems (..."Grok 3.5 [maybe call it 4])..." that serve as another reminder that for all his money, he's just kind of incurious yet arrogant, even within his own purported specialized domain.
