Exactly, I said the other day it couldn’t get worse as Davie leaves, but on the other hand… Gibb needs to be gone.

Or rife hypocrisy
November 10, 2025 at 3:58 PM
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 yes, I agree, if they’d interfered before tenure was up, the press would have fried them alive.
November 10, 2025 at 3:55 PM
Honestly, I was surprised he even went in. Not that, that should make a difference. The rule of law is only for the little people.
November 10, 2025 at 2:59 PM
I would like to say that encourages me (anyone who knows me knows I despise Johnson), but honestly, I’m really not sure on that any more 😞. Crazy world that we live in - I feel like Pandora’s box has been opened with the UK media and there’s no resealing it.
November 10, 2025 at 2:57 PM
Exactly why I said most of the time. I’m afraid journalistic standards just aren’t what they were. I couldn’t see someone like Laura K or Sam Coates getting a sniff of their senior TV roles 20+ yrs ago. Perhaps I look with rose tinted glasses, but political journos mainly seemed giants back then.
November 10, 2025 at 2:52 PM
Yep. It does make me wonder who will come in next though 😬🙄.
November 10, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Incredulous that people still do not seem to understand he was the architect extraordinaire of all of this! I try not to get anxious about something 4 ish years away, but sometimes it just sneaks in - if gets into No 10 at the next GE, we really are bloody doomed.
November 10, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Well, let’s face it, if there’s one man who knows enough about betrayal… 😏
November 10, 2025 at 2:43 PM
Just said as much, they aren’t blameless. But perhaps in some kind of weird, skewed way, this assault that Ian mentions is intentional… an inside job. Wouldn’t put it past Gibb & his ilk.
November 10, 2025 at 12:36 PM
Haven’t watched BBC news in years. I also watch the news via YouTube. Sky wasn’t too bad for a while, unfortunately they are a hatchet job now too. Like Ch4 most of the time, but unfortunately I don’t have time to sit down for every live broadcast at certain times. Wish Ch4 would have rolling news.
November 10, 2025 at 12:35 PM
2 down… who is next? Wouldn’t be sad to see Gibb go🤞🏻.
November 10, 2025 at 12:32 PM
Agreed about assault job, but can’t help thinking the BBC had not helped itself. Its blatant bias & politicisation has not befit the role of a democratic westernised public broadcaster for some time. The platform they give Farage is simply not in accord with the size of Reform versus other parties.

Woman has more hide than an elephant!
November 10, 2025 at 12:25 PM
Gibb should follow him out of the door. But I’m under no illusion - Davie allowed the BBC to be run as right wing PR machine anyway, so will his departure make it any worse? I suppose it depends who his replacement is 👀
November 9, 2025 at 7:41 PM
Hmm 🤔, taken long enough.
November 9, 2025 at 7:38 PM
The most trusted news source? I stopped watching their news and political programmes aeons ago.
November 9, 2025 at 7:37 PM
Exactly, hope the door hits them on their arses on the way out.
November 9, 2025 at 7:34 PM
2 down…
November 9, 2025 at 7:33 PM
I’d just be happy to see Gibb follow him out of the door. Neither of them should have been there in the first place - Tory stooges. One by one they’re falling - good!
November 9, 2025 at 7:33 PM
How did it take him so long to realise??? 😏
November 9, 2025 at 7:29 PM
As I am sure you well know, the Cambridge Dictionary is a BRITISH ENGLISH language dictionary. Life’s too short for pedants - especially when they’re patently incorrect 🙄.
November 2, 2025 at 10:05 PM
Nope. The last time I looked the Cambridge Dictionary was British and includes this noun definition.
