Dislike Tories & Reform 🚫. Politics, law & the odd funny are welcome 🤓. Rejoin EU 🇪🇺. Слава Україні! Slava Ukraini 🌻.
Nope. The last time I looked the Cambridge Dictionary was British and includes this noun definition.

Metrics appear based on current Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Again, glaring issues. My oldest is at a v well reputed RG uni, the teaching is passable, lecturers are more interested in doing their own research. Thanks to the need for unis to be seen to have good research for the REF & TEF

You can study A-level English Language, English Literature or a combination of the two. For foreign translation purposes on the CEFR it is level B2.

NAO claimed we are losing £billions in tax evasion from small businesses alone (est 81%). TPA state 40% of small business tax goes unpaid, costing Britain £15bn/year. Now, l’m all for a wealth tax, but let’s not forget about these guys. After all, tax evasion is just that no matter WHO does it 🤔

Dubious administration of said businesses too. Quote “In 2021 McMurdock transferred his shares in the (first) company to his mother and resigned as director.” I bet he did… too hot to handle 🤨. As I said earlier, he doesn’t just have skeletons in his closet, he has a full ossuary.

Did you read what I linked? Repost. Leveson 2 is nothing to do with politics or Starmer and his alleged red lines. Direct quote: “In essence, Leveson 1 addressed the internal workings of the press, while Leveson 2 aimed to explore the external relationship between the press and law enforcement.”
July 5, 2025 at 3:17 PM
No. Two different things. So I disagree. Leveson 2 would do nothing to address press ethics or their relationship with politics and Govt reporting (which this post & Leveson 1 was about). Leveson 2 scope being police & press relations, so not relevant to this post or your red lines w Starmer. Below:

While it’s a totally separate issue to disability benefit, you’re not wrong. His lacklustre attitude to Brexit hurt us all. Let’s not forget 👇🏻

This Emma Reynolds? Either she’s had a job change from The Treasury, or you’re embarrassing yourselves… Honestly feels like we have to do the job of U.K. journos these days to a) get the facts straight b) find out about real news. 🙄

Shh don’t tell ReGorm in Lincolnshire… they’ll want it scrapped… they don’t need spending on rubbish like that. 🙄👇🏻
June 16, 2025 at 7:20 PM
👏🏻 so it should. You only have to look at educational attainment & social mobility opportunity to see the marked difference.

A brilliant report from Sutton Trust - the no’s don’t lie.

Most of Europe have them… I’ve never really seen an issue with it.
June 6, 2025 at 8:12 AM
Legally they can’t do that. They have to offer access to a pension, albeit they may be able to make it non contributory on their side - but this is dependent on earnings 👇🏻. But what does Lice care about laws and doing the right thing.

Consumer Rights Act does give some protection. Even as an intermediary, the onus is on booking.com to ensure that what is advertised and sold via them is accurate and in a fair and reasonable condition. Also, book via a credit card for extra protection.
June 3, 2025 at 12:04 PM
They fob you off with ‘we’re only the intermediary’ line, but they still have a legal duty to ensure that what they advertise is legitimate and as advertised. See my post above and below re Consumer Rights Act. I managed to get most of my money back in the end.

I’ve no longer any respect for Philips, but he’s not wrong. What he failed to add was that she would have been sent back to Nigeria today. Her birth circumstances - mother flying into the country to give birth, to then fly back home again! Shows you what a prized hypocrite BadEnough is.

Need to read bet lines here. Didn’t say they’ll scrap it & not replace, they’re reviewing to hopefully improve. ECHP doesn’t work for all, many SEN children don’t get one. If Govt replace it w something that works better & legally binding then I don’t see issue. Let’s at least see the plans first.

My reply from the BBC received today. Feels like an admonishing rather than an apology for misrep! Nevertheless, they have issued a ‘clarification’ of sorts 🧐
May 23, 2025 at 3:49 PM
I have now had a reply to my complaint. I’d like to say it’s an apology, but it feels more like an admonishing for pointing it out! Nevertheless, they have begrudgingly issued a ‘clarification’ on #JuneMummery #BBC

Hardly a gotcha. I screenshotted this at 10.41 am, and it only covers the last 7 days. At that point data for 21 May ie. yesterday wasn’t uploaded. Note my shot shows it starting on 14 May not 15 (rolling 7 days). Even then, the figures are nothing on what we’ve had before.

The Times is on that one today… apparently it’s only ok for an incumbent PM to take credit for someone else’s work if they’re a Conservative PM… Imagine!
May 22, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Meanwhile in The Times…👇🏻
Having said that, as much as I despised the Tories, tbf some of this is clearly a result of some of the measures they did introduce. But for The Times to surlily say Starmer will take credit in such a way is crass at best. The credit always falls to the current incumbent. 🙄

RIP Regorm. Govt stats last few weeks on migrant crossings👇🏻.

Ps waiting for someone to blame the weather 😂😅

Yes, I’m pleased. It’s a good start. Montague should be more than chastised for his lies in the select committee. TW are still pleading hard up though. Their finances are said to be “hair raising”, bonuses aside. It’s the consumers who ultimately pay. TW seem the worst but aren’t unique.
