need to kill the recurring thought of "no I can't replay/reread that, I have other stuff to check out"

no. I am a poor little peasant living just after the advent of the printing press. I have five books at most and I will reread them so much they will know the death of the author was caused by me

just said bye to Martin as he's off to London... I'll still see him there this weekend, and it'll only be for a couple of weeks probably, but... Do Not Like : (

Similar to this, I annoy Martin to no end when he sees me play Pokémon with an almost identical team the whole time, and he tries to get me to change it up or use different strategies... "don't you think it'd be fun to use a different Pokémon?" and I'm just like... well this works, so...
Something that's often annoyed me is that I seem like the kind of person who *ought* to enjoy puzzles, but generally speaking I really don't. They annoy me to no end, I'm far too impatient for them 🥲

I ran a character funnel one-shot (that ended up taking like five sessions) recently and it was so much fun to just... let loose a little bit and reward cool and creative ideas, rather than immediately go for "but what do the rules say about this?" Let to some very funny moments and clever plotting
Hot take, I think "Rule of Cool" should apply to every D&D campaign in some shape or form.

Yes even your grimdark low-fantasy high realism gritty survival focused game.

I personally feel way more engaged when my DM lets me still pass a check I rolled low on because my idea was cool, or giving my-

Thought that came to me today; DnD is the Bethesda Game of ttrpgs, the base product is semi okay with some big glaring bugs, but it gets fixed by passionate third party stuff.

Are you even a True Lover if you don't carry your wife everywhere?
Taking my wife up, carried her to Charing Cross, and there showed her the Italian motion, much after the nature of what I showed her a while since in Covent Garden. Their puppets here are somewhat better, but their motions not at all.

Because this is a short working week, lots of coworkers have taken the remaining three days off too and the office is incredibly quiet. This is wonderful for me.

This is more about the recent past but it holds true for any period of history. Looking at reports on what "normal" people left behind after their death in e.g. the 17th c., and it is amazing how many people owned... one tankard, a stool, a bed, maybe, and a table? If that. Furniture was a luxury.
It is genuinely hard for most people to grasp how poor the past was.
