Saw this one on my way into work. I named it Urban Dragonfly. When I left at the end of the day someone had stepped on it and squashed it. Why? Fear? Or just being a dick?

Stepped up my bread baking today by adding a small loaf. Also started a sourdough baking journal as I experiment with hydration and different flours.

After many weeks of trial and error, I've achieved consistency in crust, crumb, flavor, and texture of my sourdough. My sour, about 5 years old, is really settled and gives me great results. So now I'm starting to experiment with decorative scoring. today is my first attempt.

I felt ambitious after this morning's successful sourdough loaf, so I smoked a salmon filet and made a banana loaf.

After several weeks of tweaking the recipe, timing, and method, I'm now getting pretty consistent results. Only 4 ingredients.

Our Teddy was adopted from a local shelter. He came from a terrible situation and has a ways to go to get through the psychological damage. He's struggling some with social skills but we love him and he loves us back. Every day he's better. Every day we grow closer.

Our new rescue Teddy sends love.
Second full day in our home for our little rescue. He's already starting to relax. And gradually trust is building. He's now not shy about us putting/taking off on his harness and collar. Still startles with sudden sounds or movements but much more relaxed.

New family member. He may look comfortable but he's very nervous. He's had an abusive past life so we're working to build his trust. He wouldn't let us take the leash and harness off. If we bent down or reached for him he would back off and run the other way. First day in our home.
