Public servants do just that, serve the public. It’s in our character. Thank you, furloughed Feds, for continuing to give back.
Here in Seattle, furloughed NOAA employees were out in the pouring rain cleaning up beaches yesterday, part of a national week of service organized by federal workers who can't do their jobs due to the shutdown.

Story by @heyjohnryan.bsky.social at KUOW, our federally defunded public radio station.

I notice Hegseth sports the following American Flag 🇺🇸 apparel:

🇺🇸 Tie
🇺🇸 Belt buckle
🇺🇸 Pocket square

He clearly aims to signal his patriotism.

Pete— know what would truly be patriotic?

Not using Signal to share war plans with your wife, brother, and lawyer.

So many buy from China, and don't have alternatives.

So many didn't have the cash to front run the tariffs and buy inventory

Dumb tariff policy, tax cuts for billionaires, a president with a meme coin, market manipulation, and blatant corruption. All things that don’t make people feel good about the economy. Is anyone surprised?

Tariffs might be Trump’s favorite word. To legendary investor Warren Buffett, there’s less to be excited about.

“Tariffs are actually — we’ve had a lot of experience with them — they’re an act of war, to some degree,” Buffett said. They serve as a tax on goods and could raise prices for consumers.
