Finally had to leave the sewer. Is it better here?
It still is mostly great. And it doesn’t shy from skewering the ABC itself when appropriate.

I keep getting told “the order isn’t critical”, then “but you should try this other order”.
Yeah, it was CoM and TLF I think. But that’s not the point of the OP.
If a new reader has to pick and choose which of 41 volumes to read and which to not, it’s not a great corpus.

I felt that way about Terry Pratchett for years. Finally gave in to the almost universal recommendations and bought a couple.

I’m sorry, Discworld fans, very very disappointed. I get the parody. I get the art that goes into them. It all just a bit … shit.

Now THAT should be an Anon Opinion.

Does feel like July. I had to get out on a ladder to clear overflowing gutters.

Which I absolutely shouldn’t be doing ‘cos I’m a stupid bloke over 60.

Nahh well before then. Was either December 1980 or more likely January 1981. The Playroom, Tallebudgera (just south of the Gold Coast). First albums would only have been out a couple months. Still a (very good) pub band.

I saw them in an Australian coastal nightclub early 1981 (?late 80 ?)
Small crowd for a relatively unknown but energetic band. Good gig.
Relaxed drinking beers and playing video games with Kirk Pengilly afterwards.
Fun times

Also Rashid Onamatadger. He should be seeing a doctor about that.

Oh, no. It affects everyone who uses and pays for that privately-produced service or product. Whether directly consumed, or as input to another service or product.

And the fuckers have just increased the price again in Aus. Now $27.99 per month, for a Premium sub…. Grrr. Back to physical format, I reckon, with rips on phone maybe

Re-propagating plants that you’ve originally been gifted is an extraordinary feeling. I have a couple of salvias given to me >15 years ago that are now many generations deep!

Probably need sub-categories to manage the numbers.
Examples:
“Don’t Offend The Arts Benefactors”
“Best False Equivalence in a Humanitarian Disaster”
“Worst Equivocation in a Foreign Policy Setting”
