Mostly storytelling! Dices play a minor role, but they can determine whether an action is succesful, comes with a negative consequence (not failure tho) or leads to a new opportunity. Most of the time the DM determines if an action fails or the player themselves if they chose to. Hard to explain 😅

I really do! Dice work differently tho, they do not determine success/failure which takes some time getting used to. So it's really hard to fail unless it's part of the storytelling.
