People who are simultaneously claiming that they need to get rid of DEI because “merit” is everything, but Trump can nominate anyone he wants no matter how unqualified, should disappear in a puff of quantum level contradiction.

I don't see a whole bunch of sober folks on my timeline, but here's some inspiration for those who may need it this time of year. Got sober the day after Christmas. Life has never been better.

My bio father had small pox and polio at the same time. He remembers being in an iron lung as a toddler. He survived (obvs) but has lived with the effects of the diseases his entire life.
Get your vaccines, people.
Meet smallpox. Once used to decimate Native American populations. Thanks to vaccinations, it's been eradicated. #Russia retains the virus stocks. #Trump's health secretary, RFK Jr., wants to eliminate the smallpox vaccine.

“Yesterday I visited my son's school and I saw a bright colored bench in the yard. I asked if it was new.

He said to me, ′′no, that's the ‘friend’s bench.’ When someone is down, they'll sit there so others find them."
