I sincerely hope this means we start to prioritize safer air (hepas, ventilation) and hygiene (masking when sick, staying home when possible when sick). Also, more and more, on top of covid, it's looking like avian flu is mutating toward a pandemic. We could be prepared.
I've been slowly re-reading merchants of doubt & it's simply amazing how much the tobacco fiasco mirrors the COVID fiasco right down to the language used. "Alarmists" is a term that seems to be frequently applied to people speaking uncomfortable truths.

Minimal effort policy-making: We don't need more strategy-building bills that neglect to lay out just and inclusive decision-making structures, enforcement mechanisms, and funding allocations. We already know which strategies work - both from community practice and strong research findings.
