Some clubs are allowed to lose 20+ games a season but every time a certain team loses one it’s “bottling”

As wonderful as PSG have been, and they have been, this remains a well funded Qatari project, evidenced by country’s representative N al Khelaifi to football doing the post-match TV on CBS. This new team isn’t cheap either. Stars gone, but rebuild has not been on the cheap. Quality everywhere.

One thing about Arsenal is you just know there isn’t a moment of inexplicable heroism in this competition. There’s no United 99, Liverpool Istanbul, Chelsea’s 2012 run, even Spurs against Ajax. Never happening is it?

Imagine your roof is leaking and you decide to re-do your carpets instead. That’s what Arsenal have done this year
Tfailure to buy a striker in January has destroyed this season. Absolutely unforgivable. I’m furious

Me last night: Football is great, fantastic, the greatest! I don’t understand how anyone cannot love this sport!

Me right now: I envy anyone who has never wasted a single second of their lives on this painful, stress-inducing game

I know football(/sports) fans tend to amplify and dwell their teams’ failings but if you are Barca, how are you coping with Roma, Liverpool (not to mention the Bayern shambles) and now this in this competition over the last decade?

Football is great, innit?

A statistical deep dive into Trent Alexander-Arnold and quite simply, how flipping good he has been for Liverpool over last nine years. Not sure *how* you replace this kind of output really

Liverpool can reach a maximum of 91 points this season. Which amazingly, will be less than the totals they reached finishing second in 2019 (97) and 2022 (92). Klopp was so unlucky

These pre-match questions/chat about the guard of honour are so weird. Why are we trying to force controversy and a talking point out of something that we just used to do and accept as normal without comment?

Arsenal’s top scorer in the Prem this season after 35 games is Kai Havertz with 9 and he hasn’t played since Feb. There are 19 players in the league with 10 goals or more this season. Can’t even comprehend this not being addressed in the summer

How the turntables have turned
Arsenal have conceded 38.7% of their Premier League goals this season from set-piece situations.

That's the greatest proportion of all PL clubs in 2024-25.

This match has been like soothing balm on the pain of last night. What a brilliant game of association football

This finishes 5-2 to Barca at this point

Yamal. Absolutely sensational
April 30, 2025 at 7:27 PM
That’s a disgusting finish by Thuram. Absolute filth!

I’ve been upset, angry, annoyed, frustrated and downright furious after games but rarely just sad. Today I feel sad

Arsenal v PSG? In the semi-finals of a European competition? This has happened before, you know. The kids today might not care about the Cup Winners’ Cup but those of us old enough to remember know it was a big deal at the time…

At least when Arsenal finish third (or fourth?) away fans won’t keep singing “second again”. Every cloud?
