Kind of awesome that the Moonstar logo uses the classic New Mutants font. (Of course, if the series continues, or if she gets another, I hope she'll get her own, more personalized, logo.)

Ooh, yeah, something with Magik...

18 issues away from owning first prints of every appearance of Illyana / Magik in the 616 Marvel Universe (ignoring GSXM 1 - out of my budget, sadly), and it's getting harder. I didn't realize how hard/expensive it would be to find first prints of @skottieyoung.bsky.social's Strange Academy 1 & 2!

Then you need the beach party version.

Hera's so fun to draw! She has some of the best facial expressions in Star Wars.

For Halloween 9 years ago my youngest kids inadvertently recreated my favorite team-up by @jmdematteis.bsky.social and Sal Buscema.

And did you know that in Britain, where this comic originated, it was known as Action Force Monthly? (It was sold concurrently in the US as G.I. Joe European Missions)

Stop scrolling and post two characters who bring you happiness.

(Would love to see these two interact more)

It’s hard turning over a new leaf when temptation is right there…

Must be the day for it. Here are the ones I saw today

BTW, I picked up a (water-damaged) copy of Gladiator / Supreme from a dollar bin yesterday - this show has really inspired my dive into the oddities...

Ah, I see this just got revealed, so yeah, maybe.

Reminds me of this one by Jen Bartel - available as a print on her website jenbartel.shop/products/fig... - which should also be a cover (perhaps DC would pay her better than Marvel?)

The J. Scott Campbell cover that I like so much I was sure it couldn't be J. Scott Campbell:

These have been labeled as "foreshadow logo variants," but yeah, I still don't see why I would want to buy these. I did just see that the Age of Revelation series will each have "revelation variants," which seem like the same kind of foreshadowing as the FtA ones. Here's Amazing X-Men #1's one:

Dang it, I remembered her saying “do better” here until I looked it up, but posting it here anyway since it carries the same energy.

Very proud of my dollar bin find yesterday!

That Exceptional cover is a nice homage to Uncanny 153 static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldataba...

I recently discovered this 2-part classic.

Yes! I wish this was more widely known. One thing I loved seeing in the Captain Britain omnibus was a letter from Stan Lee to Neil Tennant (and others) thanking them for their work on Captain Britain. I don’t remember if this has ever come up on @cerebrocast.bsky.social but it seems like kismet.

I’m re-reading a few Marvel comics runs from the 80s/90s, and these both happen to be next. Never realized how similar these covers were - was this a trend or trope at the time? Was Byrne’s an intentional copy/homage?

Haha it reminds me of this one my then-5-yo son made, inspired by the work of Saxton Freymann (who might have done the one you posted?)
