It’s the mark of an amateur – in journalistic writing, book writing, TV, whatever – that they think ideas are the currency, where the value is, and need fiercely protecting.

Everyone has ideas. Usually ten before breakfast. Executing them well is the hard bit.
'The words are AI, but the idea is all me.'

'This is MY story, I just needed telling it.'

'The voice is authentically my own.'

'The novel is mine, but I used AI to write it.'

Gotta love the possibility that the Government won't know how much it needs to cut because cuts to the ONS have robbed it of the ability to effectively measure the economy
Official statistics affect everything. They shape how problems are seen and discussed, how policies are developed and assessed, and how we hold governments to account. The crisis at the ONS is therefore a crisis of governance - if statistics are how the State sees, it is going blind...
The latest disaster at the ONS. I wonder if they'll cease all data publication before too long.

In all seriousness, if labour market, trade and PPI data can't be trusted, there must be questions about what other errors and problems are lurking that we haven't found out yet.
