Once practiced natural resources management and conservation, in government. Now largely an interested observer in Australia
Wombats pretty common in Kosciusko too. Dig deep trenches through the snow from burrow to grass patches.

I’ve just got a cordless Dremel. I now have a million options for spending a lot of time on things that can be bought cheaply. But who else has cheap beach knitting needless repaired with cherry tree knobs? And rustic little house on the prairie furniture in eucalyptus.

My grandkids like moving stuff around. Rearranging furniture in the dolls house found an a street give away. Different floors having parties. And as for Brio trains, it’s all about building track with weird loops, turn around and elevated flyovers (home made from scrap wood)

We should trust and respect teachers. They are smart , committed and well trained. I am told encouraging learning involves a bit of instruction but most of it comes from personal engagement and motivation. I think AI has some promise, but not for everything. It’s getting better at identifying weeds

My daughter’s new bike is gravel too - fast on dirt and tar. Aside from fancy gears and carbon it looks like a shearer’s bike from the 1930s, especially when set up for bike packing.

And so it begins, how many bikes is ideal - n+1? My daughter is up to six of vintages from the 70s till now andxx CD she has sold some, all but one second-hand. Lot of fashion in bikes so the second hand is often a good deal.

Is this what you get when you reduce official statistical collections? There is a lot of very detailed private supermarket data too used for commercial purposes. Not sure how representative it is for other uses.

Spare a thought for the Cook Islanders. Long way from tiny Rarotonga to Passchendaele. Some 500 served and around 100 died. Outside New Zealand they probably were just seen as New Zealanders or Maori. www.cookislandsnews.com/internal/nat...
Lest we forget: WWI veterans remembered - Cook Islands News
A solemn ‘Remembrance Service’ commemorated Armistice Day at the Returned & Services Association Cook Islands (RSA) in Nikao yesterday morning.

He was a very good publicist.

Wombats can be surprisingly fast. The undoing of many night time cyclists. Can wreck a bike and rider? - breaks and grazes. My kid survived her encounter with just a lot of blood

Cockatoos and parrots can be quite picky with what trees they will dig holes in and then there is competition for real estate with other birds, possums, and bats or even bees.

And custard slices and pasties. I think NZ takes the cake for weird and wonderful slices made from recipes in historic community cookbooks. Yeast baking seems more prominent in Australia. All those Barossa Deutsch? We need more Beestings

Government’s struggle with big data systems, never enough money and good designers go elsewhere. But the private sector often has its own agenda. Interestingly, Australia are world leaders in public biodiversity data bases. Interfaces might be clunky but they work, despite constraints. Can be done.

Australia was an early signatory but ratification is taking a while. I hear it’s scheduled to be done by end of year. It’s important to be at the first COP. All that seemingly administrivia matters for an effective organisation and good decisions.

Mmm, potting an entry level addiction. My 7 year old granddaughter skives off school go to a pottery club with her mother. Mum makes bowl, mugs and vases. Miss 7 unicorns and dogs. Dragons to come I suspect. Not bad & worth mending when Mr 5 drops them and the dog’s big ears break off.

Presume they will need forest and trees though. Are people growing or protecting the right woodlands?

The plant breeders are very proud of R2E2 too. Like all fruit soil and growing confound affect flavour. Kensington Pride can have good flavour but many downsides. Now an old variety. A place to start breeding not end.

This research is particularly relevant for Australia - the Varroa mite infestation sweeping across the national honeybee colonies is largely virus-free. If there are additional illegal #bee imports that bring in viruses, this will only increase the impact.

Might keep him off the bike for a while though. TdF riders who complete with breaks are on super strong pain killers. Must do some damage to soft tissue. Doubt the winnings are worth it. Take time to recover.
