Also that's gotta be one of Ron Perlman's most EPIC roles I've seen him in. Such a presence right from the get go! Also surprisingly Charlie Day was quite well integrated into it, I was a bit worried about reading his name back then.

I feel like I could talk about it for too long, but I feel as though Pacific Rim differentiates itself spectacularly from other mecha identities/properties which have a bad tendency to feel quite similar to another and normally focus on the leads rather than the setting.
