27 cities (33 total venues) have formally entered the Applicant Phase to potentially host games at the 2031 Men’s Rugby World Cup.

One of the intriguing applicants is Vancouver, Canada, as it would mark games outside of the US (the host country). A reduce cities list will be confirmed in late 2026.

Speaking of America, the All Blacks and Ireland square off at Soldier Field this weekend. It’s a rematch of the 2016 contest in Chicago when the Irish beat New Zealand for the first time ever.

Now, it’s a battle between the world ranked number two and number three teams in the Windy City. Exciting!

Scotland takes on the U.S. at Murrayfield on Saturday. The Americans have just one win all-time against Scotland, coming back in 2018.

The last time these teams played each other was in July, when Scotland beat the U.S. 42-7 in Washington DC. I can’t wait for Flower of Scotland this weekend!

Taking place down the road, the Springboks and Brave Blossoms clash at Wembley Stadium.

This game marks the 10-year anniversary of Japan’s upset over South Africa at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.

It’s also the first rugby match at Wembley Stadium since 2016, where South Africa drew the Barbarians.

At Twickenham, England battles Australia with the winner getting the Ella Mobbs Trophy.

Last year, Australia defeated England 42-37 as Max Jorgensen scored the winning try in the 80th minute for the Wallabies.

In 56 previous games, England has 28 wins, Australia has 27, and one draw.

Three more days until the All Blacks battle Ireland in a mens’s international rugby match at Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois.

It’s a rematch from the 2016 game between the two teams at the same venue. Ireland won that match 40-29 and will look for the same result this time in the Windy City.

Just one game on the NHL schedule tonight after the Frozen Frenzy.

Leafs going head to head with the Jays again, which has to be a ratings boom for Sportsnet. We’ll see if both Toronto teams get wins for the second night in a row.
