So I'm just catching up on things, you're telling me that the guy who has had literally one job in his entire life - federal MP - just up and forgot to move the most important amendment the opposition leader moves? Yeah, Pierre Poilievre won't be leader long. He's rattled.

Also symbolic of how they treat artists in Ottawa: Imagine what the $4M would have bought in local art, displayed at a human scale throughout the area. Oh and this outcome was predicted at the time by artists in Ottawa.
The contempt the city has shown for this expensive and genuinely impressive piece of art it bought and proudly installed is just perfectly symbolic of how it treats both the public realm and its own investments.

Artist fears Lansdowne installation may become '$2 million of scrap metal'
The final Lansdowne 2.0 report recommends decommissioning the art installation Moving Surfaces because there's no budget to restore it.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Montréal this weekend: 2 major bridges closed, tunnel closed, 30K marathon runners blocking streets, and Monday impeding transit strike + trucker protests slowing traffic from 5-9am. Finally going to try that café 10 min from my house I've never been to 😂 #ClassicMontreal

We all breathed a sigh of relief when the country rejected the Maple MAGA politics of Pierre Poilievre. So why does this bill feel like it was written by him?

This divisive piece of legislation has already passed its second reading—we need to voice our concerns NOW.

Says the guy who single handedly moved the Overton window in Canadian politics *to the right* in his tenure as the social democratic leader?!

That's a bit rich. Oh no wait: the rich is ... who Tom catered to as leader, business elites and Outremont snobs.

This is a useful provocation. Doxxing actions taking collectively should be about abuses of power and real infliction of harm in a social context, not just what's unpopular (or, let's be real, entertaining) to a bunch of folks online.
The gleeful doxing of someone cheating in public is bad even if they are a CEO and even if they are a Coldplay fan. It's bad because this kind of thing is happening to random people on TikTok for such crimes as "sitting silently on a plane" or "being attractive"
