This is an incredible bit of reporting.

Statistical, humiliating (for "X" and of course the news orgs who still treat the platform like the innocent "Where News Happens!" that it used to be).

I love this. Imagine a distant future, after civilisation passes, when aliens find earth and discover one remaining satellite. They connect and discover a virtual world! Could it be humanity, their old world, saved, in silicon?

They enter and meet … Doom!

Yup. That was the humans.

Being decisive and detail-oriented keeps teams safe.
Until it starts making people hesitate to share ideas with you.

It’s not that you’re “too much.”
It’s that your sharpness shows up before your curiosity does.

If you want more influence, lead with openness before accuracy.

Funny, but also there’s something … unsettling about this.

I hope they don’t remember us laughing at them when they get better at standing up. And hitting things.

Vibe coding. Mind boggling.
80% done in almost zero time. The remainder … is a battle of wits and negotiation and creative wheedling coercion. ‘Pleeeeease do what i want’.

Utter mayhem again with cancelled trains and a closed line out of Waterloo. Sweaty packed stationary chaos in London tonight.

Lots of excitement over the positive potential of vibe-coding. Lowering the entry barrier to creating code and products fast.

Yet no one seems to be talking about a negative potential with “vibe-hacking”. Is that also a thing? Lowering the entry barrier for evil blackhat hacking?

Ok, I’m calling it.

Tech-workers of London city, you have reached Peak-Gilet.

Time to stop with the gilets on everyone, everywhere, all the time.

It’s becoming weird.

Spent 5 hours travelling this evening, to spend just 1 hour with old friends I’ve not seen for over 20 years.

Was 100% worth it.

Some things have a value not measured in units of time.

Trains out of London are messed up. Hot as hell, crowded, very delayed, rerouted or cancelled. And here on a random, half way platform where I have to wait 40 minutes they’ve shut the shop, so noone can buy a cold - or tepid - drink. What next - locusts? Zombies?
As Frasier would say: “Dear God.”

How is a CPO role different from a VP role?

Firstly, this is a 𝗕𝗜𝗚 step up.

At least as big as IC → people manager.

Don't underestimate it.
What makes it such a big change?
Let's run through 6× key aspects.
