Sad to hear Roy Huxley has passed away. He was one of that great, inspiring genre of commercial artists of the 50s and 60s who, in my opinion, were/are the best aviation artists of all. This is an original by him that hangs in the RAF Club in London and is one of my favourite paintings there

There is only one aircraft in the Smithsonian’s collection that was at Pearl Harbor on Dec 7 1941, this Sikorsky JRS-1. I illustrated it, surrounded by a whole lot more aviation history when it was being restored at the NASM’s Udvar-Hazy Center during an unforgettable visit in 2015
