Imagine the reaction to allegations that Corbyn had made hissing gas noises to Jewish kids as a schoolboy - and then if he had responded to those allegations by shouting 'Bernard Manning!' at the journalists
The radio silence about Farage from people who are usually supremely vocal about antisemitism is so so telling.

Whatever else this government do (and there's plenty of issues with this budget) ministers will always be able to point to this as an incredible important contribution to the country's future. Almost half a million kids taken out of poverty.
Scrapping the two-child limit in full is a monumental decision. Well done to all involved in the Child Poverty Strategy, and everyone who has made the case against the policy.

OBR says scrapping costs £3 billion in 2029-30 and will lift 450,000 out of poverty

When I had my first proper girlfriend in 1990, we both fell in love with the Stone Roses. I wrote “the way she plays, there are no words” on a slat of her bed. A few years ago, we found each other again, and she still has the slat, and we are together again. Thank you for everything, Mani 💚

Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

Nothing illustrates the arseholery of the IOC and the British Press more than the use of the image of a not-Trans woman to illustrate a story about trans women being banned (because there are no current trans women competing at this level)

"These examples illustrate how racism and misogyny intersect to produce ideal victims (the white mother, the white child) and ideal perpetrators (the predatory migrant man). Under this framework, violence committed by white men is minimised and attacks on non-white women and children go unnoticed."
'In June, when two Romanian-speaking teenagers were charged with attempted rape in Ballymena, there were anti-foreigner riots and violence for over a week.

A disturbing report published by The Detail, found about half of the rioters arrested had domestic abuse complaints filed against them. '
You're not protecting women and children with violent protests
When it becomes routine to connect migration with sexual crimes, any incident is a potential tinder box

Reform lost by 11% in Caerphilly - because of a surge in turnout, because Reform looked set to win the seat.

This illustrates Reform's vulnerability *because* they are leading the polls (in a 6 party system) while being an *unpopular* party. A much bigger problem under FPTP 2029 than PR 2026

Amazing story in The Times. Reform UK failed to pay VAT to HMRC on its sales (tickets, merchandise). About £400k in all.

Not tax avoidance. Not tax evasion. They just didn't realise when you sell stuff you have to charge VAT.

No more.
For 56 minutes Sky News and BBC News interrupted everything else and carried a Reform UK feed live, uninterrupted, unchallenged. The stream spluttered, froze, pixelated - dozens of times - still they stuck with it. FOR ONE HOUR.

This is an editorial choice. No other party gets this coverage. ~AA
