Affinity is still absolutely massive - download a 980MB file into an uncompressed 3.5GB executable 😵
A macOS file transfer dialog shows that the Affinity application being copied to the Applications directory is 3.5GB in size.

It's disappointing that @wired.com continues to disallow managing your subscription from the browser. Two obvious links on the site turn into simple redirect loops back to the website after re-login.

One page showed me a contact phone number but the phone support people get stuck in the loops too 🫠
Clicking around to manage my subscription, I come across a page with the Wired logo and a block of text below that simply says, "Thank you for being a loyal subscriber. If you would like to manage your subscription, please click here. If you have any questions about your subscription, please give us a call at 1-855-226-5869 (1-332-237-7084 if outside the United States) or email us." A white-on-black Manage Subscription button appears below this text. The words "click here" and the Manage Subscription button both take me through multiple redirects back to the wired.com homepage. I am never shown a page to actually view my existing subscription.

"He's absolutely right," says Adam Eisgrau, a senior director at the Chamber of Progress. "Common sense dictates that requiring gen-Al developers to license the copyrighted works they're trained on is both not doable and makes little sense, because those works are not plagiarized. They're used, as a person would, to learn and produce amazing technology that two federal courts have already said is 'spectacularly transformative."

When he responds that he's got Grok in his Tesla and "it’s right now just a conversational bot," I respond, "when Grok starts driving your car in a future update hopefully they'll train it to be a lawyer too so your car can represent you in court when it drives over a person because they looked like a Jew." Family Lending of Virtual Game Cards on Switch sounds great, but it's unclear if physical proximity is a hard requirement when lending to a member of the Family 🤔

The Direct said the consoles have to be proximate, but later some fine print says it's possible to connect online to start a lent game?
A Nintendo Switch lends a game to a Family Members' Switch Lite Fine print at the end of the Family Member lending segment states, "By navigating to User Settings → Online-License Settings and turning the setting to ON, you can instead opt to connect to the internet to start up software."

I started a spite-post on r/sonos after an awful time trying and failing to set up a new Beam 2 and Sub 3 (they've both been returned, that's how bad the current OOBE is) only to see this amazing disclaimer. Sonos gear has become such hot garbage, all due to a shitty mobile experience!

Every work trip I get bougier and bougier (it's a 3.5mm to Bluetooth adapter for in-flight entertainment systems)

Hosting on JSR.io represents a huge reduction in work on my end to maintain installation options that can support Node, Deno, Bun, Cloudflare, etc... The amount of code, dependencies, and bundling complexity I've been able to remove by making every package into "Deno codebases" has been staggering 🤯

Kiddo earned a Dole Whip but fell asleep on the way to getting one. We snuck out to the parking garage thinking she'd accept an IOU, but she woke up and got REAL mad. 48 minutes later we're back in line and nearly to the register.

Lesson: don't try to teach your hangry 3yo about IOUs?? 🫠
