The EU Parliament will vote tomorrow on whether it should be illegal to call this plant-based burger a 'burger.'

This is madness. Everyone can tell the difference between a plant-based burger and a meat one.

European consumers can tell the difference between meat & plant-based foods.

Yet members of the EU Parliament will vote on whether to ban the use of terms like sausage or burger for plant-based foods?

Act to stop this attack on consumer choice:

I get it, as young people politics can feel distant & fake.

But here’s the thing: if we don’t show up, the same people stay in charge. The same ones ignoring us, making decisions without us, acting like we don’t matter.

Let's use our vote to stop letting others decide our future.

The Swedish government’s proposed budget isn’t perfect. But it includes a crucial investment: expanding Sweden’s nuclear energy capacity.

That’s a smart move. It’s helps protect the foundations of Sweden’s modern welfare state, while moving us beyond fossil fuels!

Two years ago I launched Dear Greenpeace with my fellow youth climate activists alongside WePlanet, with this video. We had a simple message: Dear Greenpeace, please drop your opposition to nuclear energy!

Unfortunately, Greenpeace are still clinging to their opposition. 🧵

In 2023 Austria sued the EU Commission for the inclusion of nuclear energy in the Green Taxonomy. At the time they were supported by a bulwark of EU countries & environmental NGOs that opposed nuclear energy. Honestly, it looked like they might win.

But today, that whole landscape has changed.
EU Court Rules Nuclear Energy is Clean Energy
The highest court in the EU just reaffirmed that nuclear energy meets the scientific and environmental standards to be included in sustainable finance, and Greenpeace still refuses to budge.

The climate crisis, cost of living, & global security all demand action. Above all else is the need to defend democracy.

Democracy & the institutions that provide the guardrails for a fair & thriving society, are all coming under attack. Protecting them is something we must do together.

Let’s stand with people and protect our planet by using the power of the atom to build fair, sustainable societies for generations to come.

Olkilouto could power roughly a quarter of Swedish households.

The two oldest reactors have been providing clean energy for over 40 years.

This shows the immense value nuclear plants offer once built - decades of clean energy.

Do you remember, sisters, do you remember, comrades?

When the left in Sweden was still talking about steel, about the industry & about electricity. Do you remember when the focus was on raising material prosperity, not tearing it down?

This week we are wrapping up season one of our 'Saving the World from Bad Ideas' podcast.

@marklynas.bsky.social is joined by producer @robdeschutter.bsky.social to explore the concept of bad ideas: are we only challenging others' bad ideas, or also our own?

Everyone is talking about justice, but few dare to talk about the energy required to build it. In Almedalen I will be talking about electricity as the backbone of a modern welfare state.

Reach out if you want to meet!
Alla snackar om rättvisa, men få vågar prata om elen som krävs för att bygga den. I Almedalen kommer jag prata om kärnkraften som grundbulten för en modern välfärdsstat. Hör av er om ni vill ses!

Dear Austria, please drop your opposition to nuclear energy and your support for fossil gas (especially Russian gas).

Bad news can feel overwhelming. But electrification & the modern welfare state have already changed the world for the better.

There's more to be done. But this progress shows what's possible when we choose science, solidarity & ambition.

Together let’s build the next chapter.💚
For most of human history, pregnancy and childbirth were very risky; mothers would die in at least 1 in 100 pregnancies.

Since the average woman would have at least four or five children, the lifetime risk of dying from maternal causes would be at least 1 in 25. This was true everywhere.

Germany's opposition to nuclear energy has been a major barrier to EU efforts to phase-out fossil fuels.

The new German government's openness to nuclear energy will help accelerate the clean energy transition across the EU & globally.

I'm alive today thanks to the life support provided to me as a premature baby.

In a just society, faced by a changing climate, we must strengthen our civilisational life support system & ensure all people have equal access.

Publicly owned nuclear contributes to this goal.

It may not have been obvious in the documentary, but I fundementally align with the left at my core.

The modern welfare state is why I am even alive today & helps deliver the most socially just society.

Nuclear's steadfast clean, reliable energy is emblematic of this society.

I'm part of the climate anxiety generation, but I found hope in science.

Championing science has resulted in me being attacked by the left for defending the science on nuclear energy, & the right for defending climate science.

Science, not dogma, will lead to a better future.
