You use the officials USGovt secure channels to hide communications from bad actors. You use Signal to hide communications from the USGovt.
As I explain here, security isn't even the biggest part of the Signal Scandal. This is to keep actions secret from the US government. It's how to do crimes, bribes and more. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/signa...

I'm glad my Congresswoman is taking the lead on this. Others can let their representatives know to support the effort. Protecting our privacy is a part of protecting our democracy.
Earlier today, I announced an effort to reform the Privacy Act, the 51-year-old law that protects Americans’ privacy from government abuse.

But I’ll need your help. We’re going to protect our privacy, together.

Let me explain why this effort is so important.

I almost envy people who can call their Senators' office and bitch about their dissatisfaction. It must feel good to vent. Just kidding. It's good to know @edmarkey.bsky.social and @ewarren.bsky.social are fighting the fight. How's your Senator doing?

At this point, there are only two options:

A) Elon is so dishonest that he is willing to peddle obvious lies to score PR points

B) Elon really is this stupid

I especially love that it is framed as consumer protection, but how else do you get standing?

This enraged and amused me, so I share.

Opinion | On November 5th, voters gave Donald Trump an overwhelming mandate to seize Gaza, Greenland, and the Panama Canal while passing off domestic control to Elon Musk. Why is this so hard for the Left to understand?

I was to give a talk at a big US Attorney's Office next week abt the complicity of German lawyers in the creation of the Nazi state. Yesterday the Justice Department cancelled it.
Irony is dead.
I've got an op/ed on this I'm looking to place. Help appreciated.

A good thread about the historical differences between US and our neighbor to the north.

I wish Canada only the best and fervently hope that border remains open in coming years.
Canadians are so influenced by the story America tells about itself that we don't know our own history, which is linked from the beginning with their history. We are on the margins of an empire, so this is normal. 1/x
