My totally wild guess would be: People who disproportionally only care about their neighborhood actually only care about themselves. People that only care about themselves are incurious and don’t like to learn.

That's why they push the culture war—to distract from how bad the inequality is. Corps/ultra-rich are raking it in at the expense of the working class. Corps are crushing labor + price gouging consumers while getting tax breaks. They've been waging an undelcared class war on workers for decades.

“Rapture” is an INSANE episode where Captain Dad suddenly isn’t worried about being a religious figure anymore and in fact leans into it so hard that he’s not only willing but happy to die and leave his sad son behind for the mere chance at more visions. What the fuck?

“The Ascent” is a fantastic episode where we get to see two characters with history work through how they feel about each other while going through some shit. It absolutely astounding. So good. Each character gets to really BE their character.
